POSITION: District Mission and Stewardship Coordinator (DMSC)
PART-TIME:
This is a part time, at-will position which may be terminated by either party at any time.

SUPERVISION:
This position reports to, and receives direction from, the Augustana District Council and the Augustana District Coordinator (ADC).
GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The DMSC shall work with the Augustana District Coordinator and the District Theology Coordinator (DTC) to articulate and communicate the Augustana District’s commitments and assist in the building up, expansion and establishment of the Augustana District in such a way that the district’s stated directives of theology, church and mission are achieved.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The DMSC shall:
- work closely with the ADC and the DTC;
- contribute to Augustana District’s publicity through its website, newsletter, etc., to raise general awareness and knowledge of Augustana District with an emphasis on mission and stewardship;
- relate and provide support to the Board of World Missions;
- provide event leadership for a district mission festival;
- coordinate fundraising efforts in support of the AD General Fund and world missions;
- raise the profile of mission partners and vetted missions;
- coordinate and oversee church planting efforts;
- visit churches (preaching, teaching, and consulting) in coordination with the ADC and the DTC;
- attend district council meetings and the Augustana District Annual Convention;
- accept additional assignments from the district council or the ADC.
COMPENSATION:
Each year the Augustana District Council will determine the DMSC’s compensation package. In consultation with the Augustana District Treasurer, the DMSC may structure the compensation package in any such legal way that benefits him or her for tax purposes, including benefits paid directly by the district, housing allowance, and the like. Pay periods will be the 15th and 30th of the month.
