1st Call Retreat

Calling All First Call Pastors and Seminary Students! You are invited to a special retreat designed just for you!

The Augustana District understands the challenges of a first call and would like to help you navigate some of those challenges by offering this retreat. It will be a time of resource sharing and gaining insights into the roles of pastors, leadership structures, and text studies.

Enjoy time with colleagues and build connections and relationships with fellow pastors in the district.

Who Qualifies?

ALL First Call Pastors and seminarians qualify to attend this event.

First-time attendee first-call pastors and seminarians are requested to pay $25 per person to help cover meals. Spouses who are NOT first-call pastors, and first call pastors who are NOT first-time attendees, are invited to attend for $160 to help cover room and board.

Financial Assistance

We do have financial aid funds available for those who need financial assistance. Please contact Wendy at 320.234.8403 for details regarding this before registering.

    Pastor Julie Smith is an ordained Lutheran pastor who co-founded St. Paul Lutheran Seminary and currently serves as the Coordinator for Districts and Fellowship Groups at LCMC. She has experience teaching and is passionate about working with LCMC’s Districts and Fellowship Groups. In her free time, Julie enjoys sports spectating, spending time with her nieces and nephews, and of course, like most Minnesotans, spending time at the lake while listening to the Twins on the radio. (Don’t ask her about the Vikings.)

    Steve is Sr. Pastor of Upper Arlington Lutheran Church, Columbus, Ohio, serves on the LCMC Board of Trustees and Theological Advisory Team, and is the author of numerous articles and publications.

    Sarah is a child of God. She is the wife of Justin and mother of Xander. Sarah loves making music, God’s Word, creating art, reading, exploring nature, learning, spending time with loved ones, and any combination of the above. She is honored to serve New Creation Lutheran Church in Perham, MN.
